Player Management Principal

Starbreeze is now looking for an Player Management Principal to make sure the Payday universe thrives with new and old players.

As a member of the Marketing team, the Player Management Principal with will look at the whole player funnel, from first awareness to reactivation of churned and lapsed players, but have a focus on User Acquisition. The person will help define and create the overall growth marketing strategy for our products to maximize ROI, from a product agnostic point of view.

Design, implement and track awareness and acquisition campaigns to drive new players to our products on traditional medias, ad networks, social media platforms and various other channels including streaming platforms. The CRM efforts will also be under the responsibility of this position and together with the development team churn analysis will be made to see where player drop-offs can be found and eliminated.

A a Player Management Principal you will be responsible to lead, analyse, and interpret data across all operations to support the overall marketing strategy; work with our data analysts and internal teams to develop insights, advise on the implementation of analytic solutions and tracking; analyse data to optimize campaigns to meet volume and return on investment targets.

You need to be able to work strategically with a strategic mindset but also be hands on, with a lot of tasks done by the person themselves or through agencies and partners.

Responsibilities

Areas of ownership & accountability (vision & strategy)

  • In close collaboration with the Game Development Team look at and create a strategy for the whole player journey and optimize both acquisition and retention inside and outside the game.
  • Define and lead the overall UA and CRM strategies for all of Starbreeze’s games to maximize profitable growth
  • Set the growth strategy and develop the Starbreeze account and optimize the player database for world class CRM
  • Explore new opportunities for user growth including new media channels, partnerships and messaging

 

Areas of execution & delivery (execution & delivery)

  • Lead, plan, manage and execute performance-based user acquisition across various advertising channels
  • Manage and grow relationships with external partners for UA efforts across the globe, to execute UA campaigns with positive ROI
  • Analyse data and optimize campaign performance based on LTV and ROI evaluation.
  • Generate performance reports. Create and present review and action plans to drive user growth based on your analytical insights.
  • Together with BI Analysts build and maintain BI tools to make informed decisions quickly while empowering others cross functionally to have information readily accessible
  • Develop toolsets that will automate campaign optimization
  • Develop frameworks for forecasting, exploring trends, and spotting anomalies
  • Design experiments to test the validity of hypotheses around user acquisition strategy

Requirements

  • Comfort in distilling technical information into business decisions, with a desire to own the business outcome of the analysis you produce
  • Previous working experience in games or app user acquisition (ideally 5+ years)
  • Passion for analytics, advertising as well as PC and console gaming
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively own, manage and optimize monthly multi-million-dollar acquisition budgets with clear ROI targets
  • Experience with attribution tools required
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of CRM, Google analytics and SEO / SEM.
  • Able to contribute to day-to-day efforts

 

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Experience analysing large datasets in an analytics role
  • Experience in taking a PC/console game to market
  • Understanding of the unique nature of Steam games UA
  • Experience with Tableau or other similar visualization tool. A passionate and organized self-starter, who doesn’t accept the status quo, but always seeks to improve and automate workflows in order to increase performance.
  • A people person, who can charm not only with experience and knowledge, but also with their personality
