Video Game Project Manager

Then this might be just the job you are looking for! Starbreeze is now looking for a Project Manager to join our award-winning team in Stockholm.

As a Project Manager you are involved in coordinating several game production, and supporting the strategies defined by the producer and team leads. You are responsible for tracking and coordinating with your assigned departments, and identifying any potential risks, bottlenecks or dependency issues  along the development.

The departments you’ll be working with are tied to your specific skillset and expertise, ranging from pure production and scheduling, to coordinate art pipelines or design and technical processes.

Job tasks

  • Ensure that the various planning, communication and tracking tools are properly implemented and updated
  • Guide and manage all aspects of the assigned focus to meet deadlines
  • Evaluate and secure required resources to match project and production needs
  • Follow-up with the production and management team on a daily basis to report project statuses, update the staffing plans for the project team, as well as track and manage project time budgets and deadlines
  • Establish communication pipelines to ensure the proper flow of information throughout the project (e.g. stand-up meetings, newsletters, mailing lists, etc.) between several departments
  • Keep the various project organization tools up to date (including project organization flowcharts and timelines)
  • Manage resources planning
  • Manage risk mitigation and solutions

You have at least 1 year experience within the game industry. You have proven and strong organizational skills, as well as a hard-working attitude with excellent communication skills. You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, and are able to work in English on a daily basis. 

To be successful in this position you are:

  • Able to manage, motivate and work with a team effectively under pressure 
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Feature a great passion for video games
  • A team player who prioritizes team growth first and foremost
  • The motivation and initiative to be both a “planner” and a “firefighter”
  • Ability to prepare and control a work schedule and deliver on deadlines
  • Previous experience in Jira and MS Project is highly desirable for this position
  • Project management certifications (SCRUM, Agile, Waterfall, etc.) are a welcome addition to your resume
