Junior Generalist Programmer

Are you passionate about making great games? Then this might just be the job for you! Starbreeze is now looking for a Junior Generalist Programmer to join our kick-ass team in Stockholm.


As a Junior Generalist Programmer, you will be working closely with a lead/senior programmer. You will be working on many different aspects of the game with the aim of optimizing, developing and debugging in an efficient manner with the goal of maintaining a product on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You will be working with a proprietary game engine, game code and the various platform SDKs involved. You will be part of the game team and will work closely with members of other disciplines.


Job Tasks:

  • Help your lead/senior in any task s/he will be working on
  • Assisting in the porting process of the game to PlayStation and Xbox
  • Responsible for delivering a great end-user experience together with the rest of the team
  • Ownership of the code you write
  • Responsible for the features you are working on. Bugs or design issues are addressed by you or communicated to your lead/senior
  • Always looking to improve yourself as well as the code you have written

Must have:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience with various programming languages/platforms/tools/systems and being able to adjust easily to new ones
  • Team player willing to listen, help and learn

Good to have:

  • Prior professional experience working on game development on multiple-platform projects
  • Experience in developing and shipping for PlayStation and Xbox 
  • You have experience with scripting languages, such as LUA or Python
