Senior UI Artist

Are you passionate about making great games and immersive visual & interactive designs?  Then this might just be the job for you! Starbreeze is now looking for a Senior UI Artist to join our team in Stockholm, Sweden.

As a Senior UI Artist, you will work closely with technical and creative leadership to design and develop UI and motion graphics solutions for the Payday franchise.  You will be involved at every stage of the process, from early inception through to implementation. This is truly a once in a career opportunity!

Job Tasks:

  • Serve as a collaborative and visionary leader in the pursuit of immersive player experiences, within a rapidly changing and multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Build and own the UI visual language, delivering visually appealing, informative and responsive interfaces in support of UX designs, gameplay and product goals;
  • Own and author the UI style guide, ensuring information consistency and immersive player experiences, both pre and post-launch.
  • Deliver visual solutions to design challenges, which balance look, feel and usability through a methodical analysis of the player and a critical eye for design;

Must Have:

  • At least 5+ years of experience as a UI Artist / Designer within games;
  • At least 2+ years of experience working in AAA games; 
  • Proficient in 2D art packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or After Effects;
  • Expertise in layout, typography, iconography, animation and interaction design;
  • A passion for UX and information architecture, with an affinity for scalable UI solutions;
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.

Good to Have:

  • A strong understanding of UX design and research principles
  • Experience prototyping UI designs within Unreal or similar 3D Engines (e.g. visual scripting)

To Be Successful in this position you are:

  • Equally comfortable switching between qualitative and quantitative research as you are navigating pantone colors.
