Senior Rendering Programmer
Hi 👋 I’m Oksanna, Talent Acquisition Partner here at Starbreeze, and I’m looking for a Senior Rendering Programmer to join our Shared Technology team here in our Crew.
You'll be a key player in our new Shared Technology team, leading our rendering efforts and ensuring we deliver the best experience to our players with games that look fantastic and perform flawlessly.

Please note that this role is based onsite at our office in Stockholm 5 days per week.
What you'll be doing:
🏃 Take the lead: You'll take ownership of our rendering work, ensuring our games are optimized and deliver the best player experience possible.
🪄 Optimizing everything: You'll maintain, simplify, and enhance our rendering pipelines in Unreal Engine 4 & 5 for all platforms, ensuring our games run smoothly for everyone.
🔧 Implementing new functionality: Implementing new rendering functionality, keeping our projects current with the available technology and pushing the boundaries of visual excellence.
⚙️ Profiling: You'll be responsible for profiling and optimization, making sure our games run flawlessly on a variety of hardware.
🤝 Collaborating: You'll be a key voice in discussions with other teams, making sure we consider rendering and optimization whilst bringing our visions to life.
🤓 Staying current: You'll research and propose the latest rendering techniques, contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
🫂 Mentoring: You'll mentor less experienced developers, teaching them the ins and outs of rendering workflows and tools, and working as part of a game team.
What we're looking for:
You have extensive experience as a Rendering Programmer or in a similar role on multiple AA+ PC/console games.
You have extensive experience with modern rendering APIs.
You have excellent math knowledge and are comfortable with the underlying principles of rendering.
You're a pro at low-level debugging and profiling.
You have extensive C++ experience and knowledge.
You're experienced in supporting and aligning rendering and optimization with a game’s product and artistic goals.
You’re a great collaborator, experienced at contributing to and improving shared workflows and practices.
You're a clear communicator who can influence and guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders toward alignment and smart decisions.
You're not only eager to keep learning and developing your own skills, but you also love mentoring others to help the team get better.
You have experience in a Product Owner or similar team lead position.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
You have experience working hands on with Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5.
You've worked on the unique challenges of multiplayer games.
Interview Process:
30-minute Google Meet call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team.
1-hour interview with a Senior Engine Programmer and Senior Gameplay Programmer.
1-hour interview with our CTO.
